About

I’m Sukham, an experienced lawyer based in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. I represent clients across the territory, focusing my practice on wills and estates, family law, and child protection law (particularly in the realm of operationalizing Indigenous child welfare systems). My work is driven by a genuine passion for the law and for helping people navigate some of life’s most challenging moments.

I earned my law degree from the University of Ottawa, after completing an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Sociology at the University of Toronto – St. George campus. I began my legal career articling at a full-service law firm in Ontario, and after being called to the Ontario bar, I practiced in a variety of areas, including real estate, wills and estates, family law, and corporate law.

When I moved to Yellowknife, I worked with the Legal Aid Commission and the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation before opening my own practice. Those experiences deepened my understanding of the unique legal needs in the North and strengthened my commitment to serving my community.

I approach every case with compassion, dedication, and a client-first mindset. Outside of work, I’m always exploring something new - whether it’s crafting, camping, chasing the northern lights, travelling the world, or picking up my latest hobby.
